Next Ford Mustang GT500 Has Decided On Dodge Challenger Demon?

By  |

Ever since Dodge brought out the Challenger Demon, fans of the Mustang have been discussing on the fate of the next-gen Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The latter has always been made for straight line performance with some thoughts for tracking and this may change with the next-gen model.

Early rumours suggest that the next GT500 will forget about competing with the Challenger Demon and instead focus on track performance to compete with the Corvettes. But then again, a recent leak has somewhat confirmed that the GT500 is eyeing to beat the Challenger Demon.

The leak revealed that the next Mustang GT500 will have a top speed of 200MPH and a ‘Drag Trip’ setting that will replace the ‘Track’ setting on its predecessor.

If this is to mean anything, Ford is hoping that the Mustang GT500 can challenge the Dodge Demon for the drag crown. The 840hp Demon is currently the fastest stock drag car and it has yet to have a real challenger of its kind.
