Next Ford Mustang Shelby GT500’s Handling Inspired By Nissan GT-R?
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is about to get updated yet again and the next model is due to arrive late next year. The next Shelby GT500 promises more power and a totally upgraded handling.
If the latest rumours are to be referred to, the next Shelby GT500 will be taking inspirations from the Nissan GT-R to improve on its handling. The word is that the front steering spindles on the GT500 will have splines designed for CV shafts. Hence, the vehicle will be a front engine with a rear transaxle and a driveshaft that goes to the front.
Such a setup is similar to that of the Nissan GT-R and it will greatly help the Shelby GT500 in boosting power while also having greater stability on the bends.
We can only wonder on whether the new mechanism will change the way the GT500 drives and feels. But then again, the above is still based on rumours and it should be taken with lots of salt. All will be confirmed when Ford unveils the next Shelby GT500 next year.
