Next Ford Shelby GT500 May Take Inspiration From Beaten Nissan GT-R
What is there not to like about the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500? The car is fast, powerful and is already a proven performer on the tracks. This is why we are very excited for the next-gen GT500, which is due to arrive somewhere next year.
The car is expected to be better than the current outgoing model in every way possible and it may just come out with some unique features to offer. One of them is a driving system that is near-identical to the Nissan GT-R.
An insider from Ford revealed that the next GT500 will see the front steering spindle having splines that are designed for CV shafts. Hence, the vehicle will be a front engine with a rear transaxle and a driveshaft that goes to the front. Such a setup is exactly like the one on the Nissan GT-R. and it will greatly help improve handling and power.
The funny thing is that the lower end Mustang GT350R has already beaten the GT-R on Motor Trend’s Hot Lap thus we can expect the GT500 to be a lot faster than the current supercar from Nissan.
