Next Ford Shelby Mustang GT500: No Plans To Downsize!

By  |

The latest generation Ford Mustang saw the EcoBoost engine getting a lot more attention than the traditional V6 and this greatly suggests that naturally aspirated engines are going extinct soon.

Well, even if this is going to be the case, we sure hope that it happens after Ford launches the next-gen Shelby Mustang GT500. With CAFÉ regulations pressing hard on downsizing, some rumours are already writing off a V8 mill for the next-gen GT500.

The good news here is that Ford has come out to trash the rumours when they revealed that V8s are what define a Mustang and they will continue to live on with the next-gen GT500.

Ford made it clear that they have no intentions of removing V8s from the Mustang and the only way for them to separate the two is through sheer force from the regulators.
