Next Honda Accord Is Too Similar To Civic?

By  |

It is no longer a secret that Honda is developing the tenth generation Accord and the flagship vehicle is expected to make its official debut next year. However, we don’t have to wait until then to learn more about the next-gen Accord.

New spy shots on the future Accord has surfaced online and they are able to give us a rough idea on what the next-gen midsized sedan will have to offer.

As how you can see here, the shape of the Accord looks very similar to the tenth generation Civic. The car features a rakish, fastback-like greenhouse, with a sloping rear window that curves towards the tail section. This coupe-like styling is nice to look at but it devoid the Accord of anything special.

It is also worth noting that the Accord will be built on Honda’s new global platform which further makes it more similar to the Civic in terms of size. While we may not know about the powertrains that will come with the Accord, it is pretty obvious that Honda will offer several turbocharged options that are similar to the award-winning 1.5L turbo-4 unit on the Civic.

If so, then the next-gen Accord feels too similar to the Civic and this is something which we are very worried about. Having two of the same cars will only limit Honda on the sales front. What do you think?
