Next Infiniti QX50 Degraded By Patent Sketch

Infiniti is on a roll at the moment as they have been enjoying great amount of success with the vehicle they produced since the past couple of years. The luxury arm of Nissan is hoping to keep the momentum alive and they will do so by launching more luxury SUVs in the near future.

Among them is the upcoming QX50, a car which promises plenty of excitement rather than being just a stilt on wheels. Infiniti has already pulled the curtains off the QX50 Concept and it was well received by the public. Like how you can see in the picture above, the concept got many expecting the QX50 can come out challenging BMW and Mercedes-Benz instead of Lexus and Acura.

Infiniti has certainly nailed it with the concept but unfortunately, the final model won’t be looking too similar. A patent sketch of the finalized QX50 has surfaced online earlier today and it shows some changes that make the vehicle appear less exciting.

As how you can see above, the upcoming QX50 is equipped with standard door handles, a revised lower bumper and some adjustments to the creases. The lower fascia is what bothered us most as it looks less luxury when compared to the concept. It’s a small detail, but one that I think would have raised the profile of this vehicle from the “Infinity version of a generic crossover,” to a segment-best.

But of course, it is still best to wait until the end product to make its debut before passing a verdict based on the sketch. Will the finalized QX50 be able to replicate the success of the concept it is based on?
