Next Porsche Boxster Spyder Inching Closer To 911 GT3’s Power

There have been a lot of talks linking the next-gen Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder to the use of a flat-six engine from the latest 911 GT3 but this has not received any official confirmation just yet.

Even so, the signs are predicting this to come true and the latest one came from Autocar. The British automotive magazine is known for relaying credible information so when they revealed that the next Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder, it may just be true.

AutoCar didn’t cite its source but their explanation makes complete sense. The 718 Boxster Spyder is not planned for a turbocharged engine hence the only good naturally-aspirated mill which it can rely on is the flat-six engine from the 911 GT3.

Such a setup will certainly raise the bar for the next 718 Boxster Spyder and this is quite interesting since many have viewed the Boxster as an entry-level sports car from Porsche. Will it happen?
