Next Toyota Supra Will Boost American Performance If It Gets Acura NSX Finish

Every passing day brings us closer to the debut of the next-gen Toyota Supra and we can’t wait to check out what the vehicle have to offer. While Toyota has yet to provide any details on the Supra, the leaks and rumors have never stopped relaying new information on the sports car.

The latest leak surfaced earlier today and it comes in the form of an internal document from BMW. The documents saw the Supra with the codename J29 being closely linked to getting a 4-cylinder engine. The newfound information got the rumors to suggest that the 4-pot mill can develop 285hp.

The figures certainly look underwhelming but if you dig deeper into the leak, you will see that there is also a 6-pot option with the Supra. The 6-cylinder mill is tipped to have 400hp to offer and it will be the most insane of all Supras.

Even if this is true, the prospects are now looking poor for the Supra and this is due to its close relationship with the BMW Z4. Should this cause a massive price hike for the Supra like hot it is for the latest generation Acura NSX, performance lovers will prefer staying away from the car.

Speculations are rife in claiming that a 4-pot Supra will cost more than $50,000 and this can spell doom for the vehicle if true. After all, you can get even better performance cars like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and even the Corvette C5 for less.
