Next Toyota Tundra Looking At Tacoma Inspirations Beat Ford F-150

The Tundra is Toyota’s flagship pickup truck built to compete in the full-sized segment but it’s aging offerings has left the vehicle further behind rivals Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado.

Toyota knows better that the Tundra is desperate for a major upgrade and they admitted to this in an interview last month. The carmaker revealed that they are looking towards a hybrid powertrain for the Tundra and the setup will not disregard the rugged all-terrain needs of a full-sized pickup truck.

Toyota went on to praise the Tacoma for being the segment leader in the midsized scene before stating that they will take some inspirations from the smaller vehicle when building the next-gen Tundra.

While the details are unclear, we are potentially looking at a Tundra with Crawl Control and several other features that can help it become a monster on the off-road trails. It will be exciting to see how such a setup will measure up against the F-150 and the Silverado.
