Nissan Leaf Can’t Slow Down In The Cold Environment

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Nissan Leaf owners here in the US. The EV car is already deprived from an updated model and it is also the vehicle with the worst resale value. Now, the Leaf is plagued with a braking problem that is caused by the cold environment.

Temperatures in the sub-zero region can apparently hurt the Leaf badly as it causes the relay inside the electronic brake booster to freeze. In other words the braking system can’t work efficiently and this can put drivers at risk of getting injured from a crash.

At first, Nissan tried to fix the issue by launching a software update to the car but it didn’t work. Hence, they are now recalling about 47,558 examples of the Leaf that are produced from 2012 to 2015 to get the issue fixed. Nissan also advised the affected owners to drive slowly when heading to the dealers.
