Red Dead Redemption 2: Loot Box Fears Heightened By Take Two!

By  |

We have mentioned before that Red Dead Redemption 2 will determine on whether loot boxes will survive the fans’ protest against microtransactions and this is due to the influence Rockstar has in the entire gaming industry.

Rockstar may not have the biggest line-up of games around but every title they produce ends up being a massive seller. Then, there is also the fact that Rockstar tends to do whatever they wants without fearing the consequences of their action. The company has produced some of the most violent and disturbing video games that got banned in many regions but they still survive.

So when Rockstar introduced Shark Cards in GTA 5 Online, many are expecting for a similar loot box system to feature in Rockstar’s next major game, Red Dead Redemption 2.

One may hope that Rockstar won’t do that and the outcome of it will see game developers following suit but this is unlikely to happen at all. Their parent company, Take-Two Interactive, had just shared that they don’t think loot boxes are a form of gambling in an interview earlier today.

If their perception on loot boxes is not gambling, then Take Two and Rockstar won’t hold back in offering more microtransactions in Red Dead Redemption 2. There’s no point complaining if this is to come true because Rockstar is not expected to be bothered by what we think.
