Self-Driving Matters – 2017 Nissan Leaf vs Tesla Model 3
Tesla Motors have turned from being a stranger into the carmaker to beat, especially in the field of driving technologies. We say this because it is Tesla that dared to offer self-driving features through the Model S and now, rival carmakers are looking to match its offerings.
The Autopilot system has given Tesla a lot of recognition and it is bound to get a lot better for the upcoming Model 3. As how it was revealed by Tesla Motors, the Model 3 will get launched together with Autopilot 2.0. The latter is a more intelligent version of Autopilot and it has been in the works for several years now.
We should be able to get a better idea on what Autopilot 2.0 will be able to offer once it gets rolled out on the Model S and Model X. Both vehicles are now getting their software updated to support Autopilot 2.0 and the autonomous program will look to arrive early next year.
To make things extra interesting, rival Nissan is going to challenge Autopilot on every front through an all-new Leaf next year. Nissan has been developing self-driving technology for a long time now but they have got nothing to show yet.
The demos will arrive next year and Nissan revealed that their system will cleverly rely on cameras and sensors to work independently without needing any aid from the driver. It will definitely be interesting to see how it compares with Autopilot. Which system do you think is better?
