Tesla Model 3 Lands On Nissan Leaf Hate List?

By  |

It seems that Nissan is not happy with the hype shown towards the Tesla Model 3.The upcoming EV car will be the biggest volume vehicle from Tesla Motors and it will also be affordable to own.

Because of these, it is really understandable why many have shown great interest in purchasing the Model 3 and most of them have placed a deposit for the car. But what surprised us the most is that Tesla has not unveiled the finalized Model 3 and it still managed to acquire about 400,000 pre-orders.

Nissan too is shocked by the love shown towards an unreleased Model 3 and it led them to act emotionally. Nissan expressed their discontent in a brand new web advert that promotes the Leaf and they quoted things like why wait when you can have a proven EV car today.

Nissan is raising a strong logical point and you can check out their full quote in the poster embedded above.

While it all sounds right for Nissan, the Japanese carmaker must also be aware that the Leaf’s offerings are outdated. The car needs a redesign and at least 200 miles of driving range to be attractive again. Wouldn’t you agree?

What Nissan, and everyone else but Tesla, needs is an infrastructure that will enable trips in between cities. That enables us to have one car, as opposed to an EV for dinking around in the home city, and a separate car for trips. When comparing prices, you really need to factor in the additional car!
