Toyota Camry: Higher Fire Risk With This New Issue

By  |

There is a new issue plaguing the Toyota Camry and several other vehicles. The issue is with the main power window switch, which is apparently not greased when the car is in production.

The absence of grease has caused the main power window switch to short circuit and this is already hurting several drivers. NHTSA revealed some Camry drivers have suffered from burn marks after they rested their hand on the main power window switch. In a separate report, the issue caused a car’s driver-side window to melt.

Toyota is already aware of the issue and they are calling back all the affected vehicles. The list includes the 2007-2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009-2011 Highlander and Highland hybrid, 2009-2011 Matrix, Tundra, Scion XB, Sequoia, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2011 Yaris as well as the 2009-2010 Scion XD.

Owners of the aforementioned vehicles have already been notified of the problem and the recall order.
