Toyota RAV4 vs Nissan Rogue: 2 Months Changed Everything

By  |

The latest Nissan Rogue Facelift came out at the start of 2017 and it has been dominating sales ever since. Up until today, the Rogue has consistently captured a large slice of the crossover market share and this is enough to push Nissan above rivals in terms of volume sales.

Normally, an achievement like this deserves an early celebration but this is not the case for the Rogue. Nissan can’t breathe easy because there is still a great deal of uncertainty on whether the Rogue will end the year at the top of the sales charts.

The Honda CR-V and Ford Edge may be out of the equation but the same can’t be said for the Toyota RAV4. For two straight months, the RAV4 managed to outsell the Rogue thus allowing it to narrow the sales gap. In July last month, Toyota moved 41,804 RAV4 in July last month and this is almost 10,000 units more than the Nissan Rogue.

If the trend is to go on for the upcoming months, we may see the sales war between the Rogue and RAV4 going to the wire. Will it be a perfect year for Nissan or will Toyota be able to make a last minute comeback?
