Toyota’s Baby 4Runner May Just Be A Rebadged Suzuki!

By  |

The Toyota 4Runner is one of the best pickup truck-based SUV here in the US and this is backed up by strong sales achieved by the vehicle. With that in mind, Toyota has made it clear that it is in their best interest to expand their utility line-up.

The last LA Auto Show saw Toyota brought out a number of exciting all-terrain concepts and among them is a subcompact model. Toyota went on to share that some of the concepts are already being worked on for a production model and those that wishes for an off-roader in a small package are excited at the potential of seeing a baby 4Runner.

But then again, if rumours are to be referred to, the subcompact all-terrain SUV won’t be built by Toyota. The word is that Toyota has reached an agreement with Suzuki to sell the Jimny here in the US.

The Jimny is a very popular all-terrain SUV over in Asia and it is expected to become the newest vehicle in Toyota’s rebadged program. The timing couldn’t be better for Toyota as Suzuki is expected to launch a new generation Jimny this year.

But of course, like all rumours, you should take the above with a grain of salt. If a rebadged Jimny is to happen, we can expect to hear more about it at the next LA Auto Show.
