Assassin’s Creed: 2018 Plans To Solve Sony PS4 Backwards Compatibility Crisis?

Ubisoft has nailed it with the release of Assassin’s Creed Origins and this explains why gamers are loud in singing praises for the game developer. But even when Origins is still fresh out of the oven, many are curious to see which direction the series will take in the near future.

If a Tweet from an industry insider is to be referred to, Ubisoft is planning to redevelop the previous Assassin’s Creed games with the aim of making every title being playable on the current generation platforms.

The move will start with the development of Assassin’s Creed Rogue, which is the seventh instalment in the epic action-adventure series.

If the insider is spot on with this finding, then perhaps Ubisoft’s decision to remaster the old Assassin’s Creed games may have something to do with the Sony PS4.

The latter is the only platform that can’t run the older games whereas rival Xbox One can play those titles thanks to backwards compatibility. But then again, the insider did mention that Rogue HD will debut on both the Xbox One and PS4 so there’s no telling on Ubisoft’s real intentions here.
