Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Offspring Of Skyrim & Dark Souls?

By  |

It is official. Assassin’s Creed Origins is the next big game to come from Ubisoft and it promises a fresh new experience of the franchise. For those that have missed the game’s unveiling at E3, you should know that Origins will be set in Ancient Egypt and the plot is about the beginning of the brotherhood.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will also move away from traditional gameplay mechanism as it wants to boost realism. A gameplay preview of Origins saw some elements of simulation, as well as inspirations taken from other great RPGs in the industry.

For example, the way combat works in Assassin’s Creed Origins feel a lot like Dark Souls. You will no longer get the ability to fight while looking at your surroundings. Also, enemies are now open to attacking you from all directions without any hold-up.

On top of that, the mini-map is now gone and it is replaced with a compass bar at the top of the display. The compass looks a lot like the one in Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim and its application is meant to make Origins more engaging to play. The absence of the mini-map is also meant to encourage exploration.
