Can Destiny 2 Meet Its Own High Standards?
The first game turned out to be a major hit and has its expansion, The Taken King; so it’s reasonable to have pretty high expectations of Destiny 2 which has just been confirmed by Bungie via a leaked poster from a retailer in Italy which marks September 8 as its launch date.
As if that’s not enough, the game’s official Twitter account has also confirmed the existence of the sequel. For those who aren’t familiar with the game, it earned an average Metacritic score of 76/100 for the PS4 and 75/100 for the Xbox One from critics, though gamers themselves have been less forgiving.
There isn’t anything in the way of trailers or gameplay teasers, so everyone is still in the dark on what to expect. However, there has been word that the sequel would also be available on PC, though it’s fairly certain that the PS3 and Xbox 360 would be out of the picture.
At any rate, both Bungie and Activision have their work cut out for them. Do you think they would be able to do a better job with Destiny 2 and surpass the original from 2014?
