Corvette C8: Dealers Receive A Mid-Engine Heads-Up!

Every passing day brings us closer to the release of the next-gen Chevrolet Corvette C8 and the car promises to be the first ever Corvette that has a mid-engine setup. GM has already confirmed on this outcome last year and it left enthusiasts curious to see how well the C8 Corvette can perform.

Today, we can get a rough idea on the performance of the C8 and this is after dealers were given some advance information on the car. One dealer spoke with us and he revealed that the powertrain on the C8 won’t be the Cadillac-made 4.2L unit like how rumours are making it out to be.

Instead, it will be a one-off mill that is likely to have the same foundations with the Cadillac’s new 4.2L unit but with a greater output of about 600hp. Now this is a figure that is more fitting for a ‘Vette.

But of course, things can still change for the C8 Corvette because nothing is finalized for the car. GM is expected to bring out the C8 Corvette later this year to cement the C8’s spec sheet.
