Mass Effect Andromeda: Bioware Can’t Stop The Greed
Most of us, if not all, hate microtransactions and it is simple to understand why.
Games are already expansive to own today and having to pay more when playing a fully purchased title can just ruin the mood. It would suck more if the microtransactions happen to spoil the balance of the game by giving an advantage to players with financial power.
So when we learned about the microtransactions coming to Mass Effect Andromeda, we can’t help but feel disappointed but not at all surprised by it. We have seen the greedy nature of Bioware before and we are expecting things to be no different in Mass Effect Andromeda.
So what are the microtransactions in the game? Bioware has already said that the multiplayer maps that will get released in the future is free of charge so it can’t be that.
The answer to this is Andromeda Points. The in-game currency can be used to obtain Multiplayer Packs, which translates to special items for the players. These points can be purchased with real world currency and can be used instead of the earned in-game currency.
So there you have it. The microtransactions coming to Mass Effect Andromeda. We can only hope for it to have a little impact on the game.
