Red Dead Redemption 2: Pay-2-Win Multiplayer Confirmed?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the next major IP to come from Rockstar and it promises to be as big as GTA 5. But if you’re interested in the online multiplayer aspects of Red Dead Redemption 2, you best get a heads-up because the online mode will be following GTA 5 Online’s pay-to-win module.

Rockstar’s Strauss Zelnick has already made it clear when releasing Red Dead Redemption 2’s trailer earlier this week that they are interested in amplifying the MTA aspects of their games. The lad even quoted that they have not been monetizing their buyers efficiently and this will look to change in Red Dead Redemption 2.

With that in mind, you can expect plenty of microtransactions happening in Red Dead Redemption 2 and they will be even greater than Shark Cards for GTA 5. The pay-to-win setup will cater well to gamers with strong spending powers and this suggests on a sour experience for honest players.

All in all, you should not look forward to a pleasant MMO experience with Red Dead Redemption 2 if you are against microtransactions. On the other hand, you can expect to have a good time in Red Dead Redemption 2’s single player mode.
