Sony PS3 To Go Dead Before Year’s End?

2018 will mark 5 years since Sony launched the PlayStation 4 and it may also signal an end to the PlayStation 3.

The previous generation console has remained active in the market despite the PS4’s arrival as it continues to receive support from Sony but it looks like time is running out for the old machine.

New reports have surfaced online claiming that Sony will bring out one last update for the PS3 somewhere in Q3 this year with a warning that they will halt the release of games on the PS3 by the start of 2019.

This means that gamers on the PS3 will need to upgrade to the PS4 or remain stuck with their inventory of games for the rest of their lives.

While the reports are based on unofficial sources, there is a high chance for it to come true and this is especially when you consider that the PS2 lasted 13 years before getting discontinued. Just to paint a clearer picture, the PS3 has been in the market for 12 years already.
