Toyota FT-AC: Can It Stop Nissan Kicks?

One of the things which we don’t like about the recent LA Auto Show is the population of crossovers. We can safely say that 80% of unveilings, concepts and reveals are about crossovers and SUVs.

We see this as an unfair balance at the LA Auto Show but since there is no turning back time, let’s proceed to single out a vehicle. It is the Toyota FT-AC concept. Unveiled alongside the TJ Cruiser, the FT-AC is built as a subcompact crossover.

Toyota also remarked that the FT-AC is being targeted to become the most affordable choice in their line-up when released and it won’t be long until a production-ready model gets unveiled.

Like the Toyota C-HR, the FT-AC will be built on the TNGA platform hence we could be seeing the vehicle coming out with a hybrid setup. We are not expecting much from the FT-AC but we do hope that the vehicle can kick the new Nissan Kicks out of the equation.

This is due to the frustrations of being a fan of Nissan. We lost hope in the brand when the Kicks was named as their biggest surprise at LA hence if the FT-AC can outsell the Kicks, it may force Nissan to go back to its exciting ways.
