Blackberry KEYOne vs Priv: How Good Is New?

By  |

The old Priv was the last time Blackberry produced an outstanding device hence we have decided to use the phone as a benchmark to see how much things have progressed with the newly-launched KEYOne.

Blackberry called the KEYOne as their value phoneand this is further reflected on the device’s specs sheet. The KEYOne features the trademark physical keyboard from Blackberry but it is applied in a manner that does not affect screen size.

The 4.5” display has 433ppi to offer and power comes from the Snapdragon 650 chipset with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. The hardwares may not be on par with the Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6 but it is speedy enough for basic heavy use.

Despite being an upmarket device, the KEYOne has proved itself to be better than the Priv. Our hands-on experience with the KEYOne gave us a sensational experience as the keyboard is much nicer to use and the cameras are sharper than the Priv. The best part is with the battery life that lasted up to three times longer than the Priv.

Other things worth noting are the fingerprint scanner which works really fast and the fact that the KEYOne runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. For $550, the KEYOne is definitely well worth the purchase.
