Forget Galaxy S9, Sony Xperia XZ2 To Spearhead 4K Movement

A large number of tech enthusiasts may think that 4K resolution on a smartphone is not a necessity as the small display on phones won’t make the upgrade easy to notice. It doesn’t help knowing that the higher the resolution is, the more power-hungry the phone becomes.

All in all, it is a bad idea that will only appeal to the ‘spec hunters’. But even with such an opinion, some tech enthusiasts still believe that 4K is a must-have upgrade since it the feature will open the way to complete virtual reality in the future.

Perhaps, Sony feels the same way as they want to be the first manufacturer to mass-produce 4K display on their smartphones. As how it was reported on XperiaBlog, Sony has gotten approval to offer 4K OLED panels on their flagship phone this year. The display will be powered by the Bravia engine which in hand will boost the experience on the Xperia device.

While Sony may have yet to officially announce on their flagship, we can expect the phone to be called the Xperia XZ2 and it will be a first in a long time for Sony in offering starting new ahead of the competition.
