Google Nexus 6P: Official Nougat vs Unofficial Nougat

By  |

About a week ago, Google released the highly anticipated Android 7 Nougat update for the Nexus 6P but it wasn’t a perfect launch for the discontinued flagship phone.

While Nougat may have offered a totally different experience on the Nexus 6P, the firmware update is filled with some bugs and it is hurting the smartphone’s battery life. For some of the Nexus 6P users, they predicted this to happen hence they did not apply the Nougat update on their phone.

These users shared that they downloaded an unofficial version of Android Nougat before claiming it to be better than the official. The unofficial Nougat came out late last month and Nexus 6P users can apply it on their device through installing CM14 Nightly Nougat ROM.

The custom ROM came out with some notable issues but the developers are very quick to fix them. Today, CM14 is more stable than ever and it is expected to get even better in the coming weeks. If you are interested in the unofficial Nougat update, you can check out the installation guide here.
