Google Pixel 2: 1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back?

Every passing day brings us closer to the release of the next-gen Pixel phones and we can’t wait to check out what the device will have to offer.

But after reading up the leaks and insider reports on the device, we can’t help but to expect an underwhelming Pixel 2 coming out in the near future.

The latest report came out earlier today from 9to5Google and they shared that the design of the Pixel 2 will be very close to the original Pixel. Despite getting a few styling tweaks, the Pixel 2 will stick to a 4.95″ display with thick bezels.

If that is not enough to indicate an underwhelming offering, the report shared that the display will be operating at 1080p only. This is bad if you are to consider that QHD is the current standard for flagship phones. Also, the Pixel 2 will have Snapdragon 835 instead of the rumored 836.

It is more downhill from here as the Pixel 2 won’t have a 3.5mm audio jack that completely contradicts to Google’s old promise.

If this is going to be the outcome, then we don’t see how the Pixel 2 is a phone of the future. It is more like a 2 steps backwards in our eyes.
