OnePlus 3T Midnight Black Might Ruin Its Own Appeal

By  |

When in doubt, do like The Rolling Stones and paint it black. That’s a universal principle that OnePlus has taken to heart with the OnePlus 3T, giving us the Midnight Black edition that looks to give the iPhone 7 Jet Black a run for its money.

The only difference here is that Midnight Black has a matte finish while Jet Black goes for way more gloss. If you’re interested, you can go to OnePlus’ main site and you would find that this special shade is available with 128GB but doesn’t cost just more than the equivalent Gunmetal at $480.

One might be tempted to believe that the Midnight Black model would not scratch easily like Apple’s Jet Black. Well, that stands as a misguided belief as long as the OnePlus 3T has not been put through a torture test wearing the new color. Actually, a scratch test alone would suffice.

If it does scratch as easily as the iPhone 7 Jet Black, then it’s no better than any regular OnePlus 3T because that would mean covering it up with protective casing. Why bother getting a special shade when you’re going to sully its beauty with another layer of plastic or rubber?
