2017 Ford Raptor To Feature New 10-Speed Auto, Mustang To Follow?

It is rare to see Ford and GM teaming up to develop something together but when they do, the item produced is always a step forward for the automotive industry. Their latest creation is the new 10-speed automatic gearbox that will be making its debut on the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

For Ford, they will offer the transmission option with the next F-150 SVT Raptor. Ford teased that the future pickup truck will be equipped with the 10-speed automatics and it will allow the vehicle to be better optimized for power and fuel economy. Ford added that the new gearbox will offer a more precise gear changing experience and the extra gears will make it more fun to drive.

Ford concluded that they will also offer the 10-speed gearbox with the future Mustang. Of course, we don’t expect this to happen anytime soon. The earliest possible time for the Mustang to feature a 10-speed gear changer is in 2018.

After seeing how the transmission was able to push the Camaro ZL1 into new heights, we are excited to know on how big the improvements will be on a Mustang. What do you think?

No thanks, manual transmission or nothing.
Unskilled drivers are ruining the driving experience.
I can rebuild my manual for a fraction of what your overgeared autos cost.
To those who claim autos for consistency at the track, unless you’re racing for cash, pink slips or are sponsered, skilled drivers will have a manual.
