2018 Ford Mustang: Failing Gearbox Dragging GM Into The Frame!

By  |

Earlier this week, Ford announced a massive recall that involves the F-150 and they have since followed it up with another recall for the 2018 Mustang.

In case you haven’t heard, the 2018 Mustang that is equipped with a 10-speed automatic gearbox is now facing a recall order and this is due to the vehicle being unable to engage into ‘Park’.

The actual fault is with the missing roll pin that attaches the park pawl rod guide cup to the transmission case and it is a lot similar to the issue on the F-150. Failing to address this may lead to the Mustang rolling away due to Park not properly engaged.

What surprised us more is that several sections of the crowd are dragging GM into the scene. We saw some comments pinpointing on the poor build quality of Ford cars and this is due to the same 10-speed gearbox having no problems on the vehicles from GM.

This is in reference to the gearbox being developed by together by both Ford and GM. It is an interesting point to make but we still don’t think there’s any need to drag GM into the scene.

This article sounds like a GM commercial? No name on who wrote this other than a Staff Reporter and limited information given. No back-up materials what so ever, just an opinion.
