2018 Ford Mustang GT: GM To Thank For A Full Second Drag Improvement?

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT is certainly a step forward from its predecessor but nobody expected the car to be significantly faster. Sure, the new Mustang GT has got a slight power bump but nobody expected those extra ponies to translate into a full second off drag times.

This was demonstrated earlier today in a drag test conducted by Hot Rod and it saw the Mustang GT finishing a quarter-mile challenge with an impressive time of [email protected]

This is almost 0.5 seconds faster than the tests conducted by major review outlets like Car&Driver and MotorTrend. However, it is worth noting that the Mustang GT in this latest test is fitted with the new 10-speed automatic shifter that is co-developed by GM.

The automatic shifter is just really good that it can ensure efficient acceleration thus improving the timings of the Mustang GT. Perhaps, it would be right to say that GM deserves some credit for making this possible.
