2018 Ford Mustang GT500 vs Dodge Challenger Demon: The Best We Will Get

By  |

Later this year, Ford is expected to release the next-gen Mustang GT500 and we can’t wait to check out what the car has got to offer. Despite still pending to make its unveiling, Ford has already confirmed that the GT500 will rely on a V8 engine and it is aimed at the straight line.

A spokesperson from Ford has said that the Mustang has been a car for drag races since the very beginning and the push for more track-oriented Mustangs in recent years won’t affect the next-gen GT500.

So, with V8s on the cards and the straight line as the goal, it is perhaps right to say that the next Mustang GT500 is hoping to outdo the latest Dodge Challenger Demon. The latter came out running on a 840hp V8 engine that allowed it to become the fastest stock drag car around and it is the vehicle for the next GT500 to beat.

If the Mustang GT500 is to arrive with 750hp or more to offer, the car may stand a chance to outpace the Dodge Demon. But of course, a race needs to happen and we would be thrilled if the GT500 can jump straight into competing against the Demon swiftly after its release.
