2019 Chevrolet Silverado May As Well Avoid A Four-Pot Setup!

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado will be coming with many new things and among them is a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Word on the new mill has created a ruckus on automotive forums as many don’t see how a small engine setup can perform well on a full-sized pickup truck.

It is unsure on what got GM to introduce the 4-cylinder engine and our best guess is with the piling pressure to downsize. Even GM has teased that the 4-cylinder engine is intended for those seeking greater fuel economy with the Chevrolet Silverado.

It all sounds forgivable until you realize that the new engine is not so small in size. GM’s latest reveal confirms that the new engine will be a 2.7L turbo-4 mill and this is excessively large for a 4-pot setup.

The huge capacity will help prevent performance strains on the heavy Silverado but it won’t have any significant impact on fuel economy. Hence the question, should GM proceed with the 4-cylinder venture on the Silverado?
