Chevrolet is almost ready to release their 2019 Chevrolet Silverado which means we will be getting more and more detail about the upcoming model.

We already know that the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado will be coming in with the new 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that should be replacing the 4.3-liter V6 engine. According to Chevrolet, the new engine will help make the Silverado more affordable.

With that, fans are expecting to see a huge upgrade when it comes to the fuel economy of the Silverado but the latest report suggests that the update is not as impressive as we thought it would be. In fact, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado will be sitting below both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 when it comes to fuel efficiency.

The Silverado engine will be offering about 20mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway. Do take note that the V8 engine will be offering 24mpg on the highway so we can see why the fans were so upset.

Tim Herrick, the executive chief engineer of the Silverado are asking the consumers to ignore the label and is confident that the Silverado is still better than its rivals. What do you think?
