2019 Jeep Cherokee Impressive On Paper But…

Jeep took the covers off their facelifted fifth-gen Jeep Cherokee. With the changes made on the outside and under the hood, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee does look impressive but Consumer Reports does not seem to share the sentiment.

The 2019 model will come in with a new 2.0 liter turbo-four engine that will be offering about 270hp and 295lb ft of torque. The engine will come mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Despite that, CR reported that the engine feels underpowered and that the transmission does not feel smooth and responsive.

They added that the handling and ride are far from impressive either. The 2019 model does come with a feature that will allow it to adjust the all-wheel-drive system behavior based on the surface but according to Consumer Reports, the Cherokee still did not do too well off-road.

WHat they did like was the comfortable interior, the large boot space, and the updated infotainment system.
