2019 Jeep Renegade Brings More Pain To Hopeful Fans

By  |

For the majority of long-term Jeep fans, the Renegade is viewed as a cash grab vehicle from the company because there is nothing on the compact SUV that can accurately represent Jeep.

And for a portion of these folks, they believe that the Renegade will become good once Jeep starts making changes that are inspired by the latest-generation Wrangler. If you are among them, you should know that this outcome won’t happen through the 2019 year-model.

It was confirmed today that Jeep will sell the Renegade with a brand-new mill and it is one that has jumped straight to popularity for the wrong reasons. This cannot be avoided as the new mill is a 1.3L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that can develop 177hp and 200ft-lbs of torque.

The power output may look decent for a compact SUV but it is very unlike Jeep to utilize a small capacity setup and we don’t see how this will help improve the Renegade’s image in the eyes of loyalists.
