2019 Mazda3: No Sedan On The Cards?

By  |

In a month from now, Mazda will pull the curtains off the next-gen Mazda3 and the majority of consumers cannot be more excited for it. This is more so for those that have laid eyes on the beautiful Kai Concept which the Mazda3 is being based on.

The Kai Concept has got a structure of a hatchback and the latest teasers from Mazda has confirmed that the final product will be very close to the prototype in terms of appearance.

The teasers also raised an interesting question on the upcoming Mazda3 and it is about the fate of the car’s sedan structure. The current Mazda3 is offered in both sedan and hatchback styles whereas there has yet to be any sign of sedan coming with the next-gen model.

If rumours are to be referred to, Mazda will restrict the Mazda3 into being a hatchback-only vehicle. They won’t work on a sedan variant as the car will be near similar to the current Mazda6 in size.

It’s a sensible decision for Mazda to make but until the Mazda3 gets unveiled, you should take rumours with a grain of salt. We do wonder though how much bigger the Mazda3 is going to be.
