2019 Toyota Tacoma vs Toyota Hilux: Sibling Rivalry

While the Hilux is not offered here in the US, it is considered one of the top-selling truck globally. So how it fares when compared to the 2019 Toyota Tacoma?

There is definitely a lot to love about the 2019 Toyota Tacoma. The truck is fitted with a long list of Active safety tech, is great off-road and looks great. The Tacoma comes powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. There is also the base engine, the inline-4. The engines are offered with the six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The truck was given a four-star overall rating from NHTSA and will come fitted with safety features like the automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warnings, and a few more optional features.

The 2018 Toyota Tacoma, on the other hand, will come in with a few upgrades including the automatic transmission which will now be offered to a few more models. The 2018 model will keep its design since it is still pretty new.

Powering it is a 2.7-liter engine. There is also a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine and a 2.8-liter four-cylinder engine turbodiesel engine option for those looking for more. If the Hilux were offered here, will you pick it over the Tacoma?
