2020 Chevrolet Equinox & GMC Terrain Won’t Get Diesel Engine Anymore

Diesel engine might have had a lot of supporters in the past but the number of people getting a diesel-powered model is going down now especially after the issue with Volkswagen and this might have led GM to take the diesel options out of the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain line up.

According to The Car Connection, the diesel engine will no longer be offered on those two models when the 2020 model arrived. GMC later confirm the rumor and added that a majority of their Terrain buyers are choosing gas over the diesel engine with a ratio of 2:1.

Some people also believe that the pricing of the diesel model might also doom the diesel models as the gasoline-powered Equinox was only $100 more expensive than the diesel model so people really did not have any reason why they should get the diesel model instead.

While GM seems to have decided where they stand when it comes to diesel model int he future, Mazda has announced that they will start offering their CS-5 with a diesel engine fulfilling the promise they made when they announce the latest CX-5.
