2020 Ford Explorer QC In Question

The 2020 Ford Explorer and its sibling, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is being investigated over some quality control issues.

According to Freep, they have been looking into reports from a few unnamed sources about the Explorer and Aviator leaving the assembly plant with a lot of issues mainly related to the chassis, transmission, and suspension. It was added that about 10,000 to 18,000 units are affected.

Due to the high number, they added that Ford has to get the help of Roush Engineering and brought in staff from other plants to get the vehicles repaired. Ford has not made any announcement yet.

Ford did issue some recalls for both these models recently over an instrument cluster, parking brake and also a seatback issue which seems to suggest that Ford’s quality control might be the root of the problem here.

We do hope that Ford will have something to announce soon but if you own an Explorer or Aviator, you might want to take note of this.
