2020 Hyundai Accent New Engine Does No Equal More Power

By  |

The 2020 Hyundai Accent will be coming into the market with a new engine under the good and while the new engine would help make the Accent more fuel-efficient, it does not necessarily make the vehicle more powerful, in fact, it looks like the vehicle will be getting less power now.

The 2020 model will be powered by a 1.6-liter Smartstream engine that will replace the 1.6 liters GDI four-cylinder engine. The new engine will have a dual port injection, thermal management module, high energy ignition coil and more which will help the engine stay more fuel-efficient.

Mated to the engine will also be a new smartstream intelligent variable transmission which will replace the six-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to all the upgrade, the Hyundai Accent will now return about 33mpg in the city and 41mpg on the highway. A huge improvement over the last model.

However, on the downside, the vehicle will also be offering less output now which only 120hp instead of 130hp that the last model was offering. No word on how much the 2020 model will be offered for.
