2020 Hyundai Kona, Santa Fe, & Tuscon Putting Safety First

It looks like Hyundai might be paying more attention to the safety of their vehicles as it was reported that the 2020 Hyundai Kona, Santa Fe as well as Hyundai Tuscon were all given a Five-Star Overall Safety Rating from NHTSA.

This is after the Hyundai Nexo SUV got a Top Safety Pick+ rating award from IIHS further emphasizing the safety of Hyundai vehicles. The 2019 model year of the Kona, Santa Fe and Tuscon have also given a Top Safety Pick+ rating by IIHS.

With the NHTSA test, the Tuscon and Kona scored five stars for their front and side crash test while the rollover crash protection test scored them four-star.

Al three models were also given the SmartSense package which will come with safety features like the forward collision-avoidance assist, front-facing camera, autonomous braking, lane-keeping assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic warning and so much more.

Hyundai is also working on the new rear occupant alert system which will be offered on all their models starting 2022.
