2020 Land Rover Defender: What Stays & What Goes?

By  |

It is no secret that Land Rover is working on updating their Land Rover Defender. Unlike the previous Defender, this will be coming in as a premium model so we can definitely expect to see a lot of changes but of course, this being the Defender, we might still see some features getting carried over. So what will be staying and what will be replaced?

Land Rover will be keeping the boxy body shape that we have come to associate with the Defender. In the front will be horizontal grille openings and rectangular LED headlights. There is also a daylight opening area that will help give the vehicle a floating roof-like design.

The Defender will now come riding on the updated MLA platform that the Discovery is also riding on right now. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine.

Now that it will be sold as a premium model, the 2020 Land Rover Defender will be competing with models like the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Ford Bronco, Jeep Wrangler and more.
