The Lexus IS F was supposed to come in to take on models like the Mercedes-AMG C63 and the BMW M3 and while it does match the other rivals in terms of specs and style, the Lexus IS F failed to get the attention of the consumers.

To boost the interest in the Lexus IS F, it looks like Lexus might be making some major changes to the upcoming model. According to Response, a Japenaese publication, the 2022 Lexus IS F will come riding on a TNGA platform that would allow the vehicle to come with a bigger body.

It was also reported that it might come with a few engines options starting from the 2.4 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that will be offering about 318hp. There is also the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine that would offer about 183hp. The IS F on the other hand would be ditching the V8 engine and come wiht a 3.5 liter V6 twin turbocharged engine with 420hp instead. We might also see the 10 speed auto transmission instead of the dual-clutch.

The new Lexus US is expected to arrive next year or in 2021 with the IS F arriving a little later.
