Acura ILX Defies Trend By Becoming Cheaper

By  |

Normally, when carmakers launch an updated model of an existing vehicle, they will take advantage of the situation by raising the price of the car. But the price hike won’t go empty-handed as consumers will get some extra bits with the vehicle in return.

Well, for the all-new Acura ILX, they have gone the opposite direction and that is with a price reduction. Unlike how it is with the 2018 model, the 2019 Acura ILX will have its price starting at $25,900 and this translates to a $2,200 drop. So, is there a catch?

It is natural to assume some features to go missing whenever a price cut happens but this is not the case for the ILX. The offerings are still identical to the model it replaces and the only real upgrade is with the new A-Spec trim that cost $29,650.

Acura has been stagnant for a long-time already – especially with their sedan offerings. The new ILX is hoping to change that and the price drop can attract the attention of consumers here in the US.
