BMW i3: No Range Extender, No Problem

By  |

The i3 Is BMW’s first major mass-market EV and it has just gotten better with a new set of upgrades. The biggest change on the new i3 is that there won’t be an option to purchase a range-extender with the vehicle.

This is because the i3 has got a new battery pack that has brought significant improvements to the car’s driving range. The new 42.2kWh battery will be enough to cover 193 miles with a full charge and this is about 34 miles better than the previous i3 with the range extender.

Which such margin of improvement, BMW has confirmed on the axing of the range extender by quoting the feature to be useless on the new i3.

“The Range Extender i3 will cease production and we will only sell the pure-electric version going forward”.
