BMW M2 Competition Heads Back Over Airbag Issue

By  |

The BMW M2 Competition and a few other new BMW models might be pretty new but it looks like BMW already have a recall for it. According to NHTSA, the BMW vehicles will have to be recalled as some models might have some issues with its airbags.

Models that will be affected include the 2019 and 2020 BMW 230i, 230i xDrive, M240i, M240i xDrive, 430i, 430i xDrive, 440i and 440i xDrive, and also the 2019 330i xDrive Sportswagon.

The recall will affect about 5079 units of BMW model. NHTSA explained that the knee airbag might not have been folded correctly during assembling which would lead to them failing to inflate and increasing the risk of the passenger or driver.

Those affected will get their airbags replaced for free. Owners will start to get notified in the next few weeks with recalls expecting to start on the 2nd of July. The fix will, of course, be free.
