BMW Might Say Goodbye To Their V12 Soon

It looks like we might not be seeing anymore V12 powered models coming from BMW is the future as Markus Flasch from BMW reveal that they are not working on any new V12 model in the near future.

However, it is not the end of the engine yet as the 7-Series model will be keeping its V12 engine until 2023. It was previously suggested that BMW might update the engine so that it complies with the new emission regulation but at that time, they already mention that it is going to be hard and it looks like it is so hard that they decided it won’t be worth the effort.

The 6.0-liter V12 engine is capable of offering about 602hp but with the filters, the engine will only offer about 577hp which is still a lot. One way the engine could stay is if BMW adds a hybrid to it like Lamborghini and Ferrari but it looks like BMW does not want to go there with the engine right now.
