General Motors had a few big news to share today. It started out with them announcing the closure of five North American plants and ended with them axing a few models from their North American production line up.

According to GM, models like the Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Volt will both be removed from their production lineup in March next year. The Cruze which is currently built at the Ohio plant will also be taken out.

In the summer, GM will be stopping the production of both the Cadillac CT6 and Chevrolet Impala that is built at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant but the Impala will still be offered as they will continue to build it at the Oshawa Assembly Plant in Canada.

Besides that, the Caddilac XTS and the previous-generation of Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra will also suffer the same fate in the fourth quarter. PLans including the Warren Transmission Operations center will also stop production on the 1st of August 2019 while the Baltimore Operations Center in Maryland will cease production on the 1st of April 2019.
